Carmen Suites, Málaga Centre

Located in the historic centre of Málaga, this interior design project is conceived as a balance between contemporary functionality, warmth, and the thoughtful use of natural light. Designed for tourist apartments, the proposal aims to offer an experience connected to the Mediterranean character of the city.

The apartment is organised through an open-plan layout, where the kitchen, dining area, and living space coexist within a single environment. This arrangement enhances spatial flow and reinforces the sense of openness, allowing daylight to spread evenly throughout the interior. Wood flooring strengthens the visual continuity while creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The lattice becomes a defining feature of the composition. Acting as a subtle filter between areas, it introduces separation without fully enclosing the spaces. Its presence softens the incoming light and establishes a balanced relationship between privacy and openness, enriching the spatial experience while maintaining a cohesive atmosphere.

The colour palette is based on neutral tones — whites, sands, and beiges — combined with warm accents inspired by the Mediterranean landscape. Materials such as wood, ceramic, and natural textiles introduce texture and authenticity, contributing to a calm and timeless environment.

In the sleeping areas, the atmosphere becomes more intimate and restrained. Soft lighting and a reduced decorative language encourage a sense of rest without disrupting the overall harmony of the project. The result is a bright and contemporary interior designed to convey comfort and a natural connection to its Mediterranean setting.
